The Millionaire’s Book (255 days to go)

Saturday, January 24th, 2009

So that’s why I have been so busy lately! I’ve been spending many hours re-living my past, day by day. It has been an amazing experience and it’s not near finished. One way to see how far you have come, is to look back at where you have actually come from.I’ll be completely honest, I have no idea how to write a book, and I’ve never done it before. That’s not stopping me though. Not only am I going to write a book, I am going to write an International Best Seller!

This is something that I didn’t discover my passion for until recently. I love writing. More specifically, I love writing content that will change people’s lives. I have enjoyed every single moment that I have spent on my book to date, and I don’t see his changing.

Why did I decide to write a book?

  • I’ve always felt that my purpose in life is to help other people. I believe that if I can write a book that people want to read, a book that will inspire, motivate and empower people to change their lives for the better, then I am well on my way.
  • To further my personal development. I believe that if you are comfortable with the way your life is, and you’re not evolving and growing as your progress on your journey, then what’s the point?
  • Is writing a book challenging? What about writing an international best seller? What about announcing to the world, on your blog, that you are going to be writing an international best seller - does this create some challenges? Most definitely! And bring them on I say.

Imagine the growth that I am going to get out of this experience? I already have :-) And it’s looking great!

I haven’t defined a release date just yet, however it will be in the first half of this year. The book is going to give the reader an in-depth view of me as a person, my origins and my journey (some might say roller coaster ride) to get to where I am today. It’s already packed with strategies and tools that will allow everyone to gain more success in their lives.

If anyone knows any great publishers, feel free to send their contact details my way: ryan@thekiwimillionaire.com, as I look forward to working with someone that’s on the same page as me.

What defines a Millionaire? (259 days to go)

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

What is the official definition of a Millionaire? How can we measure ourselves against the wealthy word?! Here are some ideas:

“a person whose material wealth is valued at more than a million dollars”

an individual who resides in a household whose net worth or wealth exceeds one million units of any currency.”

“an individual whose net worth or wealth exceeds one million units of currency. It can also be a person who owns one million units of currency in a bank account or savings account. Depending on the currency, a certain level of prestige is associated with being a millionaire, which makes that amount of wealth a goal for some, and almost unattainable for others.”

Interesting to note that all those definitions talk about the net worth of an individual, usually measured in their native currency. So if you want to become a millionaire quickly, then the easiest way to do that would be to move to Zimbabwe…

If that’s not your cup of tea then maybe we need to look at some other strategies. In order to become a Millionaire, you need to be able to define what a Millionaire is. I know we have gone through some definitions above, so it’s time to throw a though others into the mix.

I’m going to say that being a millionaire is a mindset. It’s a perception. Don’t get me wrong, it’s also about the money. But the money is only a small part of being a millionaire. When I made the decision to become a millionaire, it wasn’t because I wanted a Million Dollars sitting in a bank account.

For me, being a Millionaire is about the lifestyle, they way I think, the way I spend my time and the things I do. It’s being able to provide for my family and friends, it’s being able to focus my efforts on other projects, give to charity and spend time with my family.

If you were a multi-millionaire and you were 80 years old and your health was in bad shape - would you feel like a millionaire? Perhaps, but the point is that no matter how much money you have, you can’t buy more time.

So how hard is it to become a millionaire? Well, when you wake up tomorrow morning, you need to make a decision. Are you going to wake up feeling like a Millionaire? Or are you going to wake up and feel exactly like you did yesterday (unless you woke up feeling like a Millionaire yesterday :-) )

If you’re having trouble digesting this. Ask yourself “How would a Millionaire act? How would they wake up? What would a typical day look like for them?” Now that you have an idea of what goes on, why not bring it to life? I’m sure you can handle just one day of living like a Millionaire!

The Suicide of Karma (266 days to go)

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

According to this definition of karma, The effects of all deeds actively create past, present, and future experiences, thus making one responsible for one’s own life, and the pain and joy it brings to him/her and others.

I can see why it’s a very taboo subject - who wants to be responsible for their own life? I mean, if something goes wrong, do you really want to say that you take responsibility for it? Most people don’t. I guess that’s why most people live “average” lives, week to week, never really “making it”.

So does this karma thing exist? Well, I think so. I think that our past definitely can come back to bite us in the butt. Even if it doesn’t exist, I think it’s a great way to live your life.

“How people treat you is their karma; how you react is yours”

Wayne Dyer

Again this goes back to choice. We all have the choice of choosing the way we react to anything and everything! Choice is such a powerful thing. It let’s you change any situation in either an empowering way or a dis-empowering way.

Imagine that you owe someone $50.00 It’s from ages ago and they probably don’t even remember that you owe them the money. One day you’re going about your daily business when you remember that you owed them that money, and you haven’t yet repaid your debt.

So do you “ignore” that memory and continue doing whatever it was that you were doing? Or do you think to yourself that you really must pay that debt back, and maybe you write a little note to remind yourself. Next pay day you deposit the $50.00 into that person’s bank account.

  1. Which outcome would you feel more comfortable about?
  2. Now which outcome have you actually experienced?

So next time you’re in a sticky situation, ask yourself “I am reacting in an empowering way or a dis-empowering way?” If it’s the latter, then you have to time to change your reaction. Choose the empowering way and take a chance on Karma…

Money Sense (329 days to go)

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

So I have roughly a million dollars still to make (give or take a little!) and all the research I have found suggests different things to do with your money in order to “make it work for you”.

So what are these things?

  • Save at least 10% of all your earnings - once you have accumulated a sufficient amount then you can use this money to invest wisely, in something where your money will grow and make “money babies”. (more…)
